How do I create an account?

Click "Start 7-Day Free Trial" on any page to sign up. You can use Google Sign-In for quick access, or create an account with your email address. A card is required to start the trial; cancel anytime before day 7.

How do I upload my content?

After creating your account, upload content through the dashboard. Proprias fingerprints each file and embeds forensic watermarks on supported media to help build an evidence trail.

What happens after I upload content?

Once uploaded, your content is scanned daily (plus on-demand when you run a scan). If we detect likely matches, you'll receive dashboard and email alerts. Review each match, generate DMCA templates, submit them to the platform yourself, and track status in your dashboard.

How do I file a DMCA takedown?

1. When a leak is detected, click "File DMCA" on the detection in your dashboard
2. Fill out the simple form with your information (one-time setup)
3. We generate a compliant DMCA template in seconds
4. Copy and paste the template to the platform's DMCA form
5. Track the status in your dashboard

How long do takedowns take?

Processing times vary by platform. Major platforms typically respond within 3-7 business days. You can track the status of each takedown in your dashboard.

What if my DMCA is rejected?

If a DMCA notice is rejected, review the platform's feedback and resubmit with any required corrections. Our templates are designed to be compliant, but platform-specific requirements may vary.

What is a counter-notice?

When content is removed after a DMCA notice, the person who posted it can push back by sending the platform a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. §512(g) — a sworn statement that the material was taken down by mistake or misidentification.

A counter-notice generally has to contain the sender's signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury of a good-faith belief that it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and their name, address and phone number, along with consent to the jurisdiction of a federal court and to accept service of process from you.

Whether to honour a counter-notice is the platform's decision, not ours — some accept ones that are missing elements.

What happens after one is filed?

The platform will usually restore the content in roughly 10 to 14 business days, unless it first receives notice that the copyright owner has filed a court action seeking to stop the person who posted it. That is how the DMCA is written, and no service can prevent it.

Only you can file that court action. Proprias is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not file, fund, or participate in litigation. If you want to pursue it, speak to a lawyer quickly — the window is short.

A counter-notice came to me directly — what do I do?

If you filed under your own name and contact details rather than having us file as your agent, the platform sends replies straight to you and we never see them. We can't act on something we don't know about.

Forward it to privacy@proprias.app along with the URL it relates to. We'll stop automatic follow-ups on that notice — continuing to chase a contested takedown is exactly what you don't want — and keep the record complete in case it matters later.

On managed plans where we file as your authorized agent, replies come to us instead and we forward them to you. You don't need to do anything here.

What are my options?

• Do nothing. The content is likely restored, and that is the end of it unless something changes.
• Talk to a lawyer about filing a court action. If you go that route it needs to happen quickly, because the platform's window is short.
• If you believe the counter-notice contains false statements, that is also a question for a lawyer — there can be consequences for filing one in bad faith.

What is forensic watermarking?

Forensic watermarking embeds invisible identifiers into your content. These watermarks survive compression, cropping, and editing, allowing you to prove ownership and track the source of leaks.

How do I extract watermarks?

When a leak is detected, you can extract the watermark data directly from your dashboard. This provides proof of ownership and can help identify which content was leaked.

Do watermarks affect content quality?

No. Our forensic watermarks are invisible and have minimal impact on content quality (less than 0.4% quality loss). They cannot be seen or easily removed.

How do I cancel my plan?

1. Sign in and open Settings → Billing in your dashboard
2. Click Manage billing to open the secure billing portal
3. Choose Cancel plan and confirm

You keep full access until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel during the 7-day trial (before day 7), you won't be charged at all. If anything blocks you from cancelling, email info@proprias.app and we'll process it.

When am I charged, and what does the trial cover?

Every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial (card required). The exact first-charge date and amount are shown on the Stripe checkout page before you confirm. After the trial, your plan renews automatically each month (or year, on annual billing) until you cancel.

What is the refund policy?

Cancelling stops all future charges, and you keep access for the time you've already paid. We don't issue prorated refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact info@proprias.app and we'll look into it.

Which platforms does Proprias scan today?

Scans cover Google Search, Google public image results, X (Twitter), Reddit, forums, Instagram, TikTok, and the open web. Monitoring stays on public surfaces — we never log into your accounts.

What if I find a leak on a site you don't scan?

You can still act on it. DMCA takedowns work on any site that hosts your content — our DMCA guide walks you through filing a compliant notice yourself for leaks found anywhere, and on Defend and VIP you can ask our team about leaks you've found on your own.
