Free impersonation report generator

Someone pretending to be you? Get a ready-to-paste report, a checklist, and a warning post for your followers. Free, and nothing you type leaves your browser

Fake accounts get removed through each platform's impersonation report, not its copyright form. Reports get stuck when they're vague about which account is real and what the fake is doing. This tool writes the report for you, tells you what the platform will ask for, and drafts a post so your followers know which account is you.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted, stored, or logged. Copy or download what you need before you close the tab.

Your impersonation report

3 required fields still showing a placeholder

I am reporting an account on Instagram that is impersonating me.

My name: [Your name]
My real account: [Your real account]
Impersonating account: [Fake account handle or URL]

The account uses my name and uses photos of me. I have not authorized this account and it is not affiliated with me in any way. I can verify my identity on request.

Please remove the impersonating account.

Placeholders in square brackets mark anything still missing. Replace them before you submit.

How to report a fake account impersonating you

  1. 1

    Save the evidence

Screenshot the fake profile, its posts, and any messages it sent your followers, and copy the profile URL. Impersonators often rename or delete accounts once they're reported.

  2. 2

    Fill in the generator

Add your name, your real account, and the fake one, and tick what it's doing. The report text updates as you type.

  3. 3

    Submit the platform's impersonation form

Paste the report into the platform's impersonation form, not its copyright form. Platforms ask the impersonated person to verify their own identity, so this is a report you file yourself.

  4. 4

    Warn your audience

Post the warning from your real account so followers know which account is you, and ask them to report the fake too.

  5. 5

File copyright reports for reused content

If the fake reposted photos or videos you own, a separate copyright report removes those posts as well.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an impersonation report or a DMCA notice?

An impersonation report. It asks the platform to remove an account that pretends to be you. A DMCA notice removes specific content you own the copyright to. If the fake account also reposted your photos or videos, use our DMCA notice generator for those.

Why do platforms want my ID?

To confirm the report comes from the real person, not from someone trying to get a legitimate account removed. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X may all ask for a photo of a government-issued ID as part of an impersonation report.

Can someone else file the report for me?

Followers can report the account as fake, which helps it get reviewed, but the report that leads to removal usually has to come from you, because the platform needs to verify your identity.

Is my information sent anywhere?

No. The generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted, stored, or logged. Copy or download what you need before you close the tab.

What if the account comes back under a new name?

Report each new account. Keep your screenshots from earlier reports, since a pattern of repeat accounts helps. Proprias can watch for your names, handles, and, with opt-in face matching, your face every day, so new fakes are flagged quickly.

Legal disclaimer

This generator produces a template, not legal advice. Each platform decides impersonation reports under its own policies. Only report accounts that are pretending to be you or someone you're authorized to represent. If an impersonator is scamming people, harassing you, or threatening you, report it to law enforcement as well.

Catch the next fake before your followers do

Impersonators come back under new names. Proprias watches for your names and handles every day and, with opt-in face matching, flags fake profiles on Instagram and TikTok and pages using your face, with the evidence ready.
